The foundation of Kappa Alpha Theta is sisterhood - the core of love, respect and lifelong friendships. The sisterhood of our chapter is exemplified each day by our members' words, but more importantly by their actions. Through demonstrating our core values of faith, hope and love, Kappa Alpha Theta is a place where you find those rare friendships that will last a lifetime.
Each year to kick off the OU/Texas Red River Rivalry festivities, Kappa Alpha Theta hosts Bevo Barbecue. Chapter members sport their best Western wear complete with cowboy boots and spend the evening two-stepping with their dates at a local ranch.
"Be There" At The Races
To celebrate the end of the year, Kappa Alpha Theta hosts Be There at the Races. Thetas show off their "Sunday Best" complete with sunhats for this Kentucky Derby themed social. Thetas and their dates enjoy the afternoon at Remington Race Park complete with a catered dinner and dance to follow.
Hazing Prevention Statement
As reflected in our mission statement, we have promised to nurture each member throughout her college and alumnae experience and offer a lifelong opportunity for social, intellectual, and moral growth as our members meet the higher and broader demands of mature life. In accordance with these goals, Kappa Alpha Theta does not tolerate any acts that may be constituted as hazing. We believe that our new members should be treated with the respect and dignity they deserve as leading women. Hazing prevention is reinforced through chapter and campus educational programs, encouraging open and honest conversations on how each group, campus, and the greater fraternity/sorority community can cultivate an atmosphere where everyone feels included, safe, and welcomed.
