Our chapter is proud to continue a tradition of academic excellence as first in grades for 21 semesters. In addition to being recognized by the University of Oklahoma's President, David Boren, as the Most Outstanding Sorority on campus for three years, Kappa Alpha Theta was also awarded the President's Trophy for Outstanding Academics and Excellence in Academic Achievement by the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Student Life in 2015 and 2016.
Each member of Kappa Alpha Theta is required to achieve a minimum GPA requirement every semester. The Scholarship Director, Assistant and Advisor are available to any chapter member seeking assistance in their academic endeavors. The scholarship committee will help members define strategies to maintain or improve their GPA as well as utilize the available resources to be successful in their academic careers.
Kappa Alpha Theta does not assign mandatory study hours to any chapter member as long as she meets the necessary GPA requirement each semester.
The women of Kappa Alpha Theta can sign up to volunteer their services as a tutor or receive tutoring services from a chapter member. Theta provides tutoring programs in everything from anatomy to expository writing. In addition to tutoring programs, chapter members can participate in professional programs such as interview skills, resume tips and how to write an application essay.
Kappa Alpha Theta rewards chapter members for excellent academic performance by naming "Smarty KAT’s" each week, awarding chapter members who earn a 4.0 GPA with a gift and hosting an ice cream party for the pledge class with the most A's on their exams.
